Sao Joao Textile Choker

$190.00

It’s a long time since I’ve made a choker so I really enjoyed myself especially in exploring the possibilities of twisting rope and making rather tiny rope circles.  Believe me, the latter is somewhat challenging and requires very nimble fingers.  The result is worth the effort.

It’s made from Shweshwe with the focal point tandleton made from a fabulous African waxprint fabric.  The green bead is a relatively rare antique glass vaseline trade bead.  I’ve also used four recycled brass beads.  These are hand made in Ghana using the lost wax method of production.  This labour intensive bead requires a new mould to be made for each bead so although they look identical, on closer inspection you will see that they vary from bead to bead.

The price of this beautiful choker includes global shipping anywhere in the world.
